Michael is a second-year Computer Games Technology student at Birmingham City University, and is a Programmer and Software Developer at Curso.
We sat down with Michael to discuss how to visualise a network in virtual reality, creating custom content in games and how he likes his tea.
Hi, Michael! Can you tell us what your role is here at Curso?
I am one of the programmers here at Curso! We change projects every few weeks too, so I have also had the role of Software Developer too.
What have you been involved with at Curso?
One of the projects I have been involved with is creating a Virtual Reality visualisation of a network, to be able to diagnose issues easily. I have also been creating Linux servers, coding in PHP and creating databases in mySQL.
When did you first get inspired to work in the digital industry?
I have always wanted to be a video games developer for as long as I can remember. I have always been a huge gamer, and growing up I was fascinated with how video games were made. I always loved when you were given the option in a game to create your own custom content – that’s where I spent most of my time.
Cheers, Michael! Now we’ve got some quick-fire questions. Who would play you in a movie of your life?
What’s your favourite city? Apart from Birmingham of course.
I’d have to say Tokyo.
If you had to live in a fictional universe, which one would you choose?
Hyrule! i want to be the Hero of Time.
Tea or coffee?
Tea. Very milky with two sugars.
